From Mistake to Trust: How SSJ Partition Handled After-Sales Issues for a Philippine Operable Partition Walls Project

In business partnerships, what truly tests the relationship between parties is often not a smooth process, but how challenges are addressed when they arise. Today, we want to share a real case about how SSJ Partition faced its own error and ultimately won deeper trust from a client.

This incident occurred during our first collaboration with a client in the Philippines – their very first order. The project required the production of operable partition walls using SSJ’s unique 88mm thick C-Type profile. The system needed to achieve a sound insulation rating of 45dB and feature a Melamine Finish. However, due to a misinterpretation of drawings by the production department during a busy period – the designer, aiming for ultimate aesthetics, specified the Wall Jamb dimension as only 20mm, while production staff mistakenly identified this measurement as the specification for a Bulb Seal – this critical error was not discovered until the products arrived at the project site in the Philippines.

Faced with this urgent and awkward situation, we quickly established a resolution principle of “no evasion, no avoidance, and putting the client first.” We immediately took the following actions:

  1. Emergency Response & On-site Support: We first engaged in frank communication with the end client and project stakeholders, acknowledged the mistake, and dispatched technical personnel to provide on-site support.
  2. Providing an Interim Solution: To prevent impacting the overall project timeline, we guided the on-site team to proceed with a temporary installation using the correctly delivered components, ensuring the space’s basic functionality could be maintained.
  3. Committing to and Executing a Complete Correction: We solemnly promised to freely re-manufacture an entirely new set of partition walls according to the correct drawings and ship them to the Philippines for replacement. All additional costs related to this error – including shipping, labor, and materials – were borne entirely by SSJ.
  4. Systematic Improvement & Assurance: We formally assured both the client and our distributor that we would strengthen our internal drawing review and quality inspection processes to prevent such issues from recurring in the future.

This series of proactive and responsible actions unexpectedly became a turning point in the relationship. The client witnessed a company’s accountability for its own mistakes and its dedication to quality and commitment. In the end, we not only resolved the issue satisfactorily but also established a solid partnership and trust with this client that far exceeded a typical buyer-seller relationship.

This case offers profound insight: for complex, customized engineering products like Operable Partition Walls, perfect delivery is the goal, but the attitude and capability in handling problems are the true test of a brand. SSJ firmly believes that only by having the courage to face issues, thinking from the client’s perspective, and resolving them with full effort, can every challenge be transformed into a cornerstone for deepening collaborative partnerships.
